That the Senate Standing Committee on Privatisation is working harder is a fact. It has, for example, decided to examine annual balance sheets of all those public sector entities which are put on list of privatisation.

A question that needs to be answered by this committee is how it would be able to make a fair assessment of the haemorrhage these entities are causing to the national exchequer in the absence of balance sheets of PIA and PSM - the top two white elephants. Why hasn't the PTI government taken a decision to sell-off these two mega public-sector entities? The government has no plausible answer to this question.
